When Kimberly was in college at Bradley University in Peoria, she’d come home on the weekends to work at Barbara Harmison’s Chicagoland salon.

Those weekends were educational to Kimberly as they taught her the ins and outs of the beauty business. It made her want to create an environment where all women and men could feel comfortable, something she’s done with the new Kimberly K Hair Studio. Her passion for creativity began in college where she studied design and communications.

Kimberly’s passion has always been hair. This passion led her after college to the Marshall Field’s design team of Chicago and to the Salon Partners educational team in Naperville, Illinois. After completing training, she became a Schwarzkopf educator and opened up her first salon in 1998.

The success of her first business compelled Kimberly to team up with Barbara Harmison to build an even better salon. Together, Kimberly and Barbara created the Studio 21 Salon and Day Spa, which operated for 14 years in two locations in the Chicagoland area.

Longtime clients of Studio 21 know the level of expertise, precision and creativity Kimberly brings to her cuts and color. But now with Kimberly K Hair Studio, she’s taken all her experience and put it to use in the creation of her ideal styling environment for women and men.

Barbara is passionate about helping men and women change their lives and feel good about themselves for more than 40 years. An Electrologist and brow and waxing specialist since 1970, Barbara brings a level of expertise in Permanent Hair Removal and brow shaping rarely seen in the beauty industry.

She began her career managing salons and conducting training for Carol Block, whose mother was the storied Ruth Young Block, a Chicagoland beauty expert. Barbara opened her own salon in 1980 and later became a partner with Kimberly Hood to create Studio 21 Salon & Day Spa. Currently the two women have created a new salon experience at Kimberly K Hair Studio.

“I have a real passion for what I do,” Barbara says. “I get so much satisfaction out of helping people feel their best. I never want to give that up.”

Hair + Fashion + Beauty = Personality! This is what intrigued Christine Kluever to acquire an education in cosmetology where upon graduation, in a competition, she took first place in haircutting and styling.

Christine went on to train at Vidal Sassoon in Chicago on Michigan Avenue, specializing in Women’s and Men’s haircuts. While at Sassoon she became a member of the highly acclaimed Vidal Sassoon Artistic Team that created new designs that became Vidal Sassoon’s exclusive collection. She was responsible for education in haircutting and the ultimate decision making for new stylists meeting stringent requirements to join the Sassoon team.

In addition to her expert training, Christine has a Cosmetology Instructor License from the State of Illinois. She is certified in the highly recognized “Nuts and Bolts” curriculum as an instructor which enables her to offer her guests exceptional customer service.

Christine was the original founder of ChriSans in Oak Lawn. When the partnership dissolved, it gave her the opportunity to open her own boutique salon in Hickory Hills. Her loyal guests have followed her for over 30 years.

Christine’s keen eye for detail, devotion, and expert training enable her to customize her guests total look.
